An LCR digital bridge used to measure the inductance, capacitance, and resistance of a component, sensor, or other device. Its operation depends on the capacitance, inductance, or resistance.
The LCR digital bridge measures the current (I) flowing through the device under test (DUT), the voltage (V) on the device under test, and the phase angle between the measured voltage and current. From these three measurements, all impedance parameters can be calculated.
Types and Advantages of LCR Digital Bridges
1. Handheld LCR digital bridge:
As the name suggests, these LCR digital bridges are small in size, can be held in the hand, light in weight, and easy to carry. They have a variety of test frequencies, and the data it captures can be transferred to a PC via a USB port. They are commonly used in field operations, and they provide accuracy in the range of 0.2 to 0.1 percent. The test frequency of the handheld LCR digital bridge varies from 100Hz, 120Hz, 1 kHz, 10 kHz, and 100 kHz.
2. Desktop LCR digital bridge:
They are bulky. They can operate at programmable frequencies, providing 0.01 percent accuracy. They can be controlled by a computer, and the test frequency is higher than 100kHz.
